Friday

Well, today didn't start out very well. I was throwing up by 6am. Turns out my body didn't like my antibiotics. Went to get the kids from school, which included a long painful conversation with Skye about the fact that while be wants desperately to be a teenager, he isn't yet. Then I got new meds, drove almost home and had to pull over to puke. Made dinner, puked, and then took the boys to see Tangled.
On the way home Skye said, "Mom, I have been thinking a lot today, and our life would be really different if you weren't sick."  This is when I said, "I know" and "I am sorry", and the tears started streaming! (I HATE what cancer has done and I HATE how it limits all of us!) But of course, in true Skye form he says, "No mom, it os good, look at all the people we know because of it, and how much it has taught Laken and I. We will be better grown-ups."
Ugh!!! He is so mature and I am still so angry!!
What am I thankful for!? Christmas lights

It WILL make them better grown-ups...it has made us all better people! Sadly all the really great people were bred in tragedy...you never hear he/she is really great, what's their story with a reply of rich and had it easy in life!! Don't worry about the boys...they'll be just fine! ...and be sure to let them help you to (trust me helping helps people cope and in turn helps them)!! Love you all LOTS!!

I know that was a hard day and conversation for you...however I am amazed everytime I read your blog at the wonderful conversations that you have with the boys. I know that in many ways that they have grown up very fast because of this, however most people live their entire lives and don't have the opportunity to talk with their kids about these things. You and Dan do such a wonderful job with them and you should be so proud of that!! Hang in there:)
Love,
Bridget
